Last week, personnel completed Vertical Surface/Cliff Rescue hoist training as a part of our involvement with the @ky_state_police air rescue program. This multi-agency partnership is coordinated by the KSP Air Support Branch and Kentucky Emergency Management, and also includes our friends @wolfecountysar, and @lexington_ky_fire_department. At the conclusion of the week, we now have three fully qualified ALS Hoist Rescue Specialists who stand ready to deliver advanced medical care to patients in austere environments wherever a hoist hook can fit. Thanks to @priority1ar for another outstanding training course.

Every operational member of our roster is a fully qualified rope rescue technician. This skill set allows us to access patients as quickly as possible, continue their care during raises when necessary, and to be assets for our SAR partners. Thanks to @redriverrescue for these pictures of team Paramedic @screaming_stemi who is refreshing his rope skills in one of their superb courses this week.

Clear identification of equipment and roles is crucial. Be thoughtful in your labeling.
