A career firefighter in Jefferson County, KY, Wes serves as a Heavy Rescue Captain and Paramedic for the Harrods Creek Fire Protection District.

Seth Bloom, EMT

David Fifer, NRP
With experience as a ground search and high-angle rope technician for SAR teams in Virginia and Kentucky, David currently works as a Paramedic for Powell County Ambulance Service, deploys to austere environments as a member of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Incident Response Coordination Team, teaches disaster medical and incident command concepts at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Center for Domestic Preparedness, and is a full-time Lecturer in Eastern Kentucky University’s baccalaureate Emergency Medical Care program.

Also a Kentucky Division of Emergency Management (KYEM) Level II Technical Rope Rescue Technician, David is the Chair of the KYEM Search and Rescue Advisory Committee’s Subcommittee on Wilderness Medicine. He is a member of the Wilderness Medical Society, and is pursuing their Fellowship in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine. A member of the Board of Advisors of the Appalachian Center for Wilderness Medicine who teaches and speaks throughout the Southeast, he owns RedMed, LLC and is an Advanced Wilderness Life Support instructor.

Jon Gaddis, NRP
A graduate of Eastern Kentucky University’s Baccalaureate Emergency Medical Care program,  Jon is a Paramedic at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. A former ambulance-based Paramedic and Trauma Critical Care technician, he’s an avid Red River Gorge hiker who also enjoys rock climbing and geocaching.

Also a certified Wilderness First Responder, Mike is a Nurse Anesthetist at a major hospital in the Cincinnati area. An avid rock climber, he resides in the Red River Gorge and also volunteers as a member of the Wolfe County Search and Rescue Team.

Floyd Miracle, NRP
Floyd is a Paramedic/Firefighter for Montgomery County, CQI Coordinator for Powell County EMS, and Associate Editor of ACLSMedicalTraining.com. He is a Certified Critical Care Provider, and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Medical Care at Eastern Kentucky University.

Floyd is passionate about airway management, cardiac resuscitation, and is a self-proclaimed EKG enthusiast. He is the father of a Great Dane, who despite his lumbering size, demands frequent hikes and outdoor adventures.

Robert Sumpter, NRP
A professional firefighter and Paramedic, Robert is employed by Harrods Creek Fire Department as the 1st Platoon Sergeant on their Heavy Rescue company. Robert is certified in technical rope rescue, confined space rescue, tower rescue and trench rescue, among numerous other rescue disciplines. When he’s not volunteering with RedSTAR on his days off, he enjoys rafting, bouldering, and trail running- often with his K9 companion.

Brandon Woosley, EMT
A professional firefighter and EMT since 2009, Brandon is employed by the Anchorage and Harrod’s Creek fire departments and holds extensive certifications as a rope rescue technician, confined space technician, structural collapse technician, Hazmat technician, and wildland firefighter. When not providing care for RedSTAR, he’s an avid shooter, kayaker, and open water diver.
